Large evergreen trees, bark gray-white; branches reddish-brown, glabrous, minutely rugose.
Leaves chartaceous, glabrous, ovate or ovate-lanceolate, 10–20 cm long, 6–10 cm wide, acute to cuspidate at apex, obtuse or rounded at base, entire, somewhat undulate or subdentate at margins, with 3 main veins, lateral veins 6–9 pairs, prominent beneath; petioles scurfy, 3–8 cm long; stipules membranaceous, slightly pubescent, ovate or linear-lanceolate, ca. 1.5 cm long, fugaceous.
Male and gall or feMale flowers mixed; Male flowers few, near apex of receptacle, sessile or very shortly pedicellate, perianth lobes 2–3, involute, stamens 2, filament short; gall flowers sessile or pedicellate, perianth lobes 3–4, ovary smooth, obliquely ovoid to globose, style lateral, thicker, short, stigma dilated and truncate; feMale flowers sessile or pedicellate, perianth lobes 3–6, linear or spatulate, ovary ovoid or bean-like, oblique, pedicellate or nearly sessile, style lateral, longer, stigma dilated.
Receptacles light green, with dots, cauligenous, solitary to fasciculate on large branches and trunks, depressed-globose, 2–3.5 cm across; basal bracts 3, membranaceous, small; stalks slender, glabrous, 2.5–4.5 cm long.

分布

台灣 : Along valleys at low altitudes throughout the island and on Lanyu Island.
世界 : India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, the Pacific Islands, the Ryukyus, the Philippines and Sulawesi.
